Health Twist

Many dips made with sour cream or mayonnaise are high in fat. Using beans as a base for this dip keeps the fat low and gives you added fiber.

Three-Cheese and Bacon Spread

Prep Time: 15 Minutes Start to Finish: 15 Minutes \ choice / Servings: 8 (about 2 tablespoons spread. 4 crackers and 2 apple slices each)

Vi cup shredded reduced-fat Cheddar cheese 4 02 (half of 8-oz package) fat-free cream cheese, softened

1 tablespoon grated Parmesan cheese

2 tablespoons fat-free (skim) milk '/ยป teaspoon paprika

Dash pepper 2 tablespoons real bacon bits (from 3-02 package) V* cup raisins

2 medium green onions, thinly sliced

(2 tablespoons) 16 water crackers or melba toast rounds 1 medium red apple, cut into 16 slices

1. In small bowl, beat Cheddar cheese, cream cheese, Parmesan cheese, milk, paprika and pepper with electric mixer on medium speed until smooth.

2. Stir in bacon bits, raisins and onions until well blended.

3. Serve spread with crackers and apple.
